Tazengwa 26.8.2008
Nokipannukahvitkin Jukka keitti vaatimattomasti kahdeksan kertaa tuon päivän aikana.
Viikon kuvat: Suomesta loman lopulta
Viikon sananpaikka: Matt. 14:17-21
Viikon rukousaiheet:
Uusi lukukausi alkaa Tazengwassa ensi viikolla, varjelus oppilaiden matkoille ja siunaus uudelle lukukaudelle. Puskapappien opettajien puolesta vaikeissa taloudellisissa tilanteissa.
Viikon kiitosaiheet:
Varjelus kotimatkalla, Ngaran hyvä seminaari.

Tazengwa 26.08.2008
Dear Friends,
We are happy to be back at home in Tazengwa. Our vocation was very good. It was great to see family and friends. Of course the highlight of our trip was to meet the new member of our family, our grandson Noah Mikael, who came from Toronto with his parents Walter and Sonja to visit Finland. We spent almost two happy weeks together. We had a family reunion in Päivi's childhood home. It was wonderful to be together with the family. Also, we met Sam's mom and other family in Oulu. Of course everybody wanted to see Noah. We took literary hundreds of photos of Noah, so we have nice memories to look at. It will help us while being a distant-grandma (bibi) and –grandpa (babu)
We not only enjoyed the holidays, but also visited all those six churches that support us in Finland, and participated in our annual Summer Conference in Keuruu. It was great to meet many friends and supporters of the work. May God bless you all who welcomed us into your homes and showed your love and hospitality!
It was wonderful to enjoy Finnish nature, hike in the woods, and occasionally swim in the lakes. Although the summer in Finland was quite rainy and cool, it didn't keep us enjoying the fresh and pure nature with all wonderful flowers and berries. So we came back refreshed with lots of nice memories!
Already in Dar we were reminded about TIA (This is Africa), when the water pipe suddenly broke and Sam had a fresh "shower after the shower" in our friends' house where we were staying for couple of days. Luckily one worker who was in charge at night was able to fix the pipe so that Sam could release his finger from holding the water!
We had to buy new break buds and a new battery for the car before starting the long trip. It took us 14 hours to drive from Dar back home. We were tired but happy to reach home and to sleep in our own bed after two months of travelling.
The electricity was cut shortly after we came home. Another reminder of TIA! The shortage lasted for four days. Obviously they were fixing the big generator of something, but yesterday we finally got our electricity back. So it is good to be at home!
Our teacher Johanseni Felisiani had been running the seminars together with other teachers during the time we were in Finland. The last seminar in Ngara, close to the Burundi border, had been good. That area is very remote and our teachers have all kind of stories to tell while travelling there. The pastors and evangelists of that area appreciate the seminars very much. There is still a Family seminar to be held in that area before the students get their certificates.
We got some money for our teacher Felisiani's house project. He is building a house for his family, and it is really a big challenge for him. If you want to help him in this job, you can donate some money through our account and we will give that money to him. Here in Tanzania all prices have gone up, and the living costs are high. Building a house is taking time, because they continue little by little as they get money to buy the bricks and other materials. Now the walls are ready but the roof takes quite a lot of money. We pray that he will be able to finish his home and that it wouldn't take too many years. Thanks to you who have helped him already!
Next week there is a seminar near by, in Songambele. Sam is going there for couple of days.
Thank you for your prayers and other support. We constantly need your prayers here, especially now as we are starting a new semester in the Bible College and planning for the fall. May God bless you all and shower His blessings upon lives!
Yours in Him,
Päivi and Sam
