Sadeaika on lopuillaan ja viileät tuulet ovat alkaneet puhallella. Lämpötila ei nouse enää paivälläkään yli 30 asteen, joten olemme menossa kovaa vauhtia kohti talvea. Täällä eteläisellä pallonpuoliskolla keskitalvi on siis silloin kun siellä Suomessa ja Kanadassa on keskikesä.
Saimme yöllä puhelinviestin Buhembasta, että Amos Saman pikkuinen poika, nimeltään Tuokkola, on sairas ja ripuloinut pari päivää verta. Muistakaa koko Amosin perhettä rukouksin. Työ siellä puskassa on mennyt hyvin eteenpäin ja paljon ihmisiä on tullut uskoon. Tuollaisen herätyksen keskellä usein on myös kovia koettelemuksia, mutta luotamme, että Jumala joka on siellä auttanut kaikessa vie voittoon tämänkin asian.
Ensi viikolla Felisiani ja mama Mwandembo matkaavat Zanzibarille, jossa on D-seminaari puskapapeille ja heidän puolisoilleen. Zanzibar on aina haastava paikka ja tarvii paljon esirukousta. Koimme siellä itsekin aikanaan kun olimme pitämässä semianaria, miten naapuriston muslimit eivät hyväksyneet seminaarin pitoa ja kiviä lensi peltikatolle opetustuntien aikana. Mutta seurakunnat ovat kasvaneet ja vahvistuneet, eivätkä helposti hätkähdä vastoinkäymisestä.
Miellä on suunnitelmissa matkustaa vihdoinkin Etiopiaan ensi viikon lopulla. Sieltä on jo kyselty pitemmän aikaa puskapappiseminaarien pitoon. Haaste siellä on myös suuri, nimittäin paljon muslimeja on tullut uskoon ja he tarvitsisivat raamatun perusopetusta. Jumalan sanan opetus ja rohkaisu on juuri nyt siellä tarpeen, jotta uudet uskovat voisivat vahvistua sanan tuntemisessa ja saada siitä voimaa vaellukseen...varmasti monien koettelemusten keskelle. Kiitos, että muistatte myös tuota matkaamme ja Etiopian uskovia.
Totontossa Walterin ja Sonjan perheessä on menossa jännät ajat. Sonjan maha on kasvanut jo siihen malliin, että lapsi voi syntyä million vain. Laskettuun aikaan on vielä viikko! Odotamme soittoa milloin vain. Walter hommasi skypeen kameran ja saamme sitten tuoreet kuulumiset ja näkymät kun vauva on syntynyt. Tietenkin olisi hieno jos olisimme siellä paikalla, mutta hyvä näinkin. Suunnitelmissa on matkata kesällä Suomeen, jonne Walle ja Sonja tulevat uuden vauvansa kanssa. Siellä sitten näemme ja saamme mummotella ja papotella...tosin olemme sopineet, että meitä kutsutaan sitten Biibiksi ja Baabuksi Tansanialaisittain.

Dear Friends,
Rainy season is over and cool winds have started to blow. During the day, the temperature does not arise over 30 degrees anymore, so we are certainly going towards wintertime. Here in the southern part of the globe, the things are vise versa – when you have summer in Finland and Canada, we are having winter.
At night, we got a message from Buhemba that the little baby-boy of Pastor Amos Sama, called Tuokkola, has been sick with diarrhea for couple of days. Please pray for him and the whole family. The work over there has been growing and people are being saved. During the time of revival, there are often many trials, too. However, we trust the Lord that He will complete the good work that He has started in that village.
Next week our teacher Felisiani with mama Mwandembo, will travel to Zanzibar to conduct Seminar D for the pastors, evangelists and their spouses. Zanzibar is a very challenging place and needs your prayers. When we were there couple of years ago, we experienced it ourselves; during the seminar, the stones were flying on the roof by Muslim neighbors who were not happy about the seminar in the church. Anyways, the churches are growing slowly, and Christians are not giving up.
Our plan is to fly to Ethiopia in the end of next week. We are going there to become acquainted with the Bible school- and other work. In addition, the brothers have been interested in our OBS work. The challenges are many over there. Muslims are being saved and the need for teaching is great. Thank you for remembering that trip, too, in your prayers.
In Toronto, Walter and Sonja’s family are having an exciting time. Sonja’s stomach is big; the baby is due next week. We are also very excited and eagerly waiting for a phone call…Walter and Sonja bought a web camera, so we’ll see a new baby through that. Of course, it would be wonderful to be there, but at this time, we have to be satisfied seeing our first grand child through the camera. In summer, we are planning to travel to Finland, where Walter and Sonja are also coming with their baby, so we will have a chance to see this newcomer, and practice being grandparents, bibi (grandma) and babu (grandpa).
